Reception could provide a detail about buses from the hotel to different points in the city.

Hotel was close to the site I was visiting, and also close to the Grassmarket where I went for dinner. Would be an ideal location for a weekend stay, close to Castle. Hotel was in a great building, room was very comfortable and clean, with good facilities. Breakfast was great, and good value too.

It was centrally located and very cheap! We had a nice big room, which was warm and had a clean bathroom and huge TV.

The mattresses were appalling - could feel the all springs. The shower dripped constantly and very loudly. The room was quite dusty. The staff were efficient, but not friendly - we hardly had any interaction with them e.g. no acknowledgement when we came in and went out. We booked a twin room, but the bed was made up as a double -this was remedied quickly.

The hotel felt "individual". The decor was of a high quality without feeling standardised.

The overnight room temperature didn't feel consistent. The first night felt warm but the second seemed a lot colder - the quilt was very thin and didn't feel sufficient on the second night.

we booked 2 double rooms but when we arrived only one was booked. One room only had a tiny bed barely bigger than a single.

The friendliness and helpfullness of all the staff.The rooms were beautifully designed and comfortable.The hotel was very convenient to visit the old part of the city,and not far to the shops (walking distance)

No heated towel rail in the bathroom,the hairdryer was atatched to the back of the drawer which made it difficult to get enough stretch on the cord to see into the mirror while drying your hair.

The comfort of the room with TV, bath and shower. Also the space of the room was very nice to can move around in the room and store your bagage.

Information about the price of the breakfast was not clear.

The breakfast wasnt the best, rather cheap ingredients. Location is ok but on the edge of not the best area of edinburgh but for the money, more than worth it.

The room was very large, nicely decorated and clean. The bathroom was very spacious and modern as well. The beds were comfortable and we did not hear much noise from the street. The concierge ordered a taxi for us the night before we left for the train station and it showed up. We did not try the breakfast so I cannot comment on that but I would highly recommend this hotel. It is very close to the university and, for us, was easy walking distance to old town.

The wifi didn't work very well. If you sat at the desk it was more or less functional but anywhere else in the room did it did not work. Best reception in the bathroom!

We ordered a double room and were a little surprised to find our room had a really small bed, hardly a two person one. But we got good service and were upgraded without surcharge. Something to keep in mind if you happen to be 6'2".
